Bowsprits

As previously mentioned fitted new removable bowsprit. This is to enable Dark Tarn to fly a Gennaker in winds less than 12-14 Kph (that's knots not kilometres) her new genoa is a 130% as opposed to her old one which is 150% so a light wind alternative is the Gennaker with a snuffer. Anyway it looks kinda cool!
Dark Tarn
Plans largely involve this
Our new (to us) yacht " Dark Tarn ". I bought her in Portsmouth a while back and delivered her to her new home in Preston. Preston is an inland port up the river Ribble about 15 miles from the open sea.
Since then we have completed around 1400 miles together mainly exploring the Cumbrian coast and Scotland.
At the moment we are in the depths of winter and jobs are being relegated to the back burner, however I have managed to fabricate and fit a new removable bowsprit to accommodate her revised sail plan, new sails are being made By John at Saturn Sails in Largs, I intend to pick them up early next year before taking a year or so exploring the Scottish west coast with my wife Lynne.
